The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) is the premier institution in India for the promotion of the profession of company secretary. The institute was established in 1980 under the Company Secretaries Act, 1980 (Act No. 56 of ICSI) and is recognized as a professional body by the Government of India.
ICSI has come a long way since its inception and today, the institute is engaged in the promotion of various courses, including the foundation course. The institute has also been actively involved in the development of various standards and has been the leader in the implementation of various policies and regulations related to the promotion of the profession of company secretary.
